An annual registration fee of $25 will be charged at the time of your first monthly payment.

Recreational Class Descriptions

.Monday: Teen Lyrical (Ages 10+ years)

This class focuses on both the technical skills and performance skills needed to express one’s self through lyrical dance. Dancers will learn how to dance with grace and strength, while learning lyrical combinations. Dancers will perform a lyrical piece at our year-end recital. Dancers should wear comfortable clothing, lyrical dance shoes or bare feet, and hair must be pulled back.

 

Tuesday: Mini Ballet/Tap Combo (ages 3-5 years):

This Mini Combo Class introduces young children to ballet and tap. Dancers will learn basic technique, steps and terminology. The use of fun, age appropriate music engages the young dancers’ minds and bodies and encourages them to express themselves through movement. Dancers will perform both a ballet and tap dance in our year-end recital. Dancers should wear ballet tights, a leotard (ballet skirt is optional) and ballet and tap shoes. Hair must be pulled back.

 

Tuesday: Beginning Tap

This class is for dancers who are new to tap. Dancers will begin, learning basic tap steps, terminology and combinations. Dancers will progress to quicker, more rhythmic variations as their skills develop. Dancers will perform a tap dance in our year-end recital.

 

Tuesday: Intermediate/Advanced Tap

This class is for tap lovers who want to further their tap skills and learn quicker, more rhythmic combinations. Dancers will perform a tap piece in our year-end recital.

 

Tuesday: Intermediate Pointe

Dancers will strengthen their pointe technique and learn classical pointe variations. Teacher recommendation is required for this class. Dancers should wear leotard, skirt/shorts optional, tights recommended but not required, and pointe shoes. Hair must be pulled back. Wednesday: Beginning Hip-Hop

This class is for dancers who are new to hip-hop. Dancers will learn fun, up-beat combinations and will build upon each week’s development. Dancers will learn how to express themselves through this energetic style of dance. Dancers will perform a hip-hop piece in our year-end recital. Dancers should wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes.

 

Wednesday: Intermediate Hip-Hop

This class is for dancers who want to take their hip-hop skills to the next level, while expressing themselves through this fun, energetic style of dance. Dancers will perform a hip-hop piece in our year-end recital. Dancers should wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes.

 

Wednesday: Advanced Hip-Hop

This class is for dancers who are proficient in hip-hop and want to learn more advanced combinations. Dancers will learn new hip-hop combos each week to keep this class dynamic and challenging. Dancers should wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes.

 

Wednesday; Advanced Pointe

This class is for dancers who are proficient in pointe. Dancers will further develop their technical skills and learn classical pointe variations. Teacher recommendation is required for this class. Dancers should wear leotard, skirt/shorts optional, tights recommended but not required, and pointe shoes. Hair must be pulled back.

This Combo Class introduces toddlers to ballet and jazz. Dancers will learn basic technique, steps and terminology for both ballet and jazz. The use of fun, age appropriate music engages the young dancers’ minds and bodies and encourages them to express themselves through movement. Dancers will perform both a ballet and jazz dance in our year-end recital. Dancers should wear ballet tights, a leotard (ballet skirt and/or shorts are optional) and ballet and jazz shoes. Hair must be pulled back.

 

Thursdays: Tricks, Turns and Leaps

This class focuses on the technical foundations required across multiple styles of dance. Dancers will learn various turns, leaps and other skills required to further their development. This class is a technical development class and will not perform a piece in our year-end recital. Dancers should wear leotard and shorts/leggings. Hair must be pulled back. Bare feet, turners or jazz shoes.

 

Saturday: Youth Ballet (Ages 6-10 years)

Ballet is the technical foundation of all dance. Dancers will learn correct ballet technique and terminology, while strengthening their bodies. Dancers will perform a ballet piece in our year-end recital. Dancers should wear leotard, ballet tights, and ballet shoes (ballet skirt or shorts are optional). Hair must be pulled back.

 

Thursday: Youth Jazz (Ages 6-10 years)

This is a high-energy, fun class. Dancers will learn jazz steps, combinations and jazz terminology. Dancers will learn how to express themselves through this vibrant style of dance. Dancers will perform a jazz piece in our year-end recital. Dancers should wear leotard and shorts or leggings. Bare feet. jazz shoes or turners. Hair must be pulled back.

 

Thursday: Teen Jazz (Ages 10+ Years)

This is a high-energy, fun class. Dancers will learn jazz steps, combinations and jazz terminology. Dancers will learn how to express themselves through this vibrant style of dance. Dancers will perform a jazz piece in our year-end recital. Dancers should wear dance clothes. Bare feet. jazz shoes or turners. Hair must be pulled back.
